With governments all over Europe adopting Unix for some of their most sensitive computer applications, the need for security is growing fast. UK Unix pioneer The Instruction Set Ltd of North London has announced an agreement with Addamax Corp, making it the sole European agent for the Addamax C2 and B1st trusted Unix products. Anne Peter, director of technology services at The Instruction Set, said that the product was chosen after detailed evaluation of a number of secure products. No other product on the market at the moment – or in the near future – looks likely to achieve Addamax’s level of quality and completeness, said Ms Peter. The contract is exclusive and has no fixed term. The Instruction Set is currently involved in a number of major European Secure Unix projects, porting and modifying Secure Unix products as required – but it said that it was forbidden to reveal details of its work.
