It has been confirmed that Instagram will be launching its app for Windows Phone in the coming weeks.

The social networking app has been available on iOS devices for three years and on Android since April 2012.

The announcement was made at the Nokia World conference. Nokia also posted on their Twitter: "Instagram is coming to Lumia in the coming weeks!!! #nokiaworld".

Nokia’s devices division is currently in the process of being acquired by Microsoft.

Instagram’s CEO Kevin Systrom confirmed the app for Windows Phones saying:

"Our ultimate goal is to bring Instagram to everyone who wants to use it.

"We’re looking forward to watching the Windows Phone community use Instagram to capture and share beautiful moments in the coming weeks."
