We also hear that far from being thrilled at Floating Point Systems Inc’s using the Transputer in its troubled T-series of parallel supercomputers, the whole thing has turned into a deep embarrassment for Inmos: seems that Floating Point had already done all the basic design work on a parallel processor before the Transputer became available, and in effect retrofitted the Transputers into the design with less than complete success.
