INFOSPACE LAUNCHES JAVA-BASED SPACESQL 3.0, SUN BUYS LICENSE

Infospace Inc has released the third version of its SpaceSQLJava- based decision support server, adding two administration modules,a new front end, new Java charting features and enhancements to thequery performance and functions. Sun Microsystems Inc has bought worldwide licenses for SpaceSQL and SpaceOLAP for use within its intranet. San Mateo, California- based Infospace launched the first version 18 months ago. Version 3.0 is inlimited availability now but will be fully available by the month-end, for $10,000 per server and $2,000 per concurrent user license, for which the ratio is usually one concurrent user for five end users.
