Three former Informix Software Inc executives have teamed up and formed a new company in the UK, primarily focusing on call center operations. Andata Ltd, headquartered in Berkhamstead, Hertfordshire was established in June this year, and has just completed its first acquisition: AI International Ltd, a call center and help desk outfit. AI will be integrated into Andata in September and will trade under the Andata name. Andata says the purchase forms the first important part of a long term acquisition strategy. The three executives are Peter Morris, also former managing director of AI, along with co-founders Bernard Smith and Peter Leach. Financial details of the friendly takeover have not been disclosed. After the purchase, Andata will have 30 employees, and hopes to double that by June next year. Andata is to concentrate on call center software and data warehousing, in the retail, finance and telecommunications markets, and has signed up customers including AT&T Corp, British Telecommunications Plc and supermarket chains Tesco Plc. Andata is a privately held company, but Morris said it has plans to either float or be sold in about three to five years. He said: Obviously we are not just going to walk away from the company, we will see it through to maturity.
