INFORMIX’ NEW TOOLS WILL SUPPORT THE CL/1 LANGUAGE

Informix Corp says its relational database and applications generation tools will support the CL/1 language developed by Apple Computer Inc’s Network Innovations Inc acquisition: CL/1 is an SQL-based communictions language that provides uniform access to shared data, masking the differences between host operating systems, proprietary databases and network protocols – when it becomes available in the middle of this year; it will enable users to access and manipulate data from any database sypported in the host environment, including Informix, VAX/Rdb, Ingres, Oracle and Sybase on a DEC VAX, and SQL/DS or DB2 in the IBM mainframe world.
