INFORMIX GOES TO NEON FOR SYSTEMS INTEGRATION PACKAGE

By CBR Staff Writer

Informix Software Inc is teaming up with Englewood, Colorado- based New Era of Networks Inc to enable applications built on Informix databases to be integrated with other packages and legacy applications. New Era – or Neon, as it prefers to be known – specializes in integrating disparate applications, databases, systems and networks across large organizations. Its latest package, NEONet 3.1, is to be bundled in with the Informix Online database. NEONet includes massaging and queuing capabilities, a transaction routing system and a facility to transform messages to multiple formats. It will include guaranteed transaction delivery, dynamic data transformation and intelligent content- based transaction routing. Neon floated on the Nasdaq stock exchange in 1993 and employs 150 staff in offices across the US and in London, UK. Informix says a partnership with the company will enable its customers to take greater advantage of their investment in existing Informix technology.
