Further to the acquisition in February of the assets of Javelin Software Corp by Chicago-based Information Resources Inc, Information Resources in the UK has relaunched Javelin Plus, formerly marketed in Europe by AshtonTate, which lost the account last year: the combination of Javelin Plus with its timeseries database, and Express which is multidimensional, has significantly expanded Information Resources’ potential customer base it now spans the takeitoutofaboxanduseit approach of Javelin to the more formalised system building associated with Express; and these different approaches are reflected in a pricing strategy which ranges from UKP400 for Javelin Plus and UKP1,500 for the Express personal computer, to UKP25,000 upwards for the mainframe version of Express.
