Information Resources Inc, Chicago, which, filed a $1bn antitrust suit against Dun & Bradstreet Corp, and its spin-offs A.C. Nielsen Co, and IMS International Inc in July last year, saw the suit move onto its next stage after Federal District Court Judge, Louis L Stanton, denied a motion to dismiss the charges. The plaintiff, Information Resources, provider of information services to the packaged goods industry, lodged eight complaints of which seven were allowed to stand, with further information required to be filed about its US market share. The eight complaints are alleged violations of Sections One and Two of the Sherman Act, which includes exclusive dealing, attempted monopolization of the export market, and monopoly exploitation. Information resources saw a $7.6m loss on revenues of $406m last year, while Dun & Bradstreet had net profit of $44m on revenues of $2.09bn.
