Information Builders pushes Linux on IBM mid-range

Information Builders Inc has strengthened its ties to IBM Corp's mid-range server platforms through an expanded alliance program for resellers aimed at bringing enterprise business intelligence onto Linux platforms.

By CBR Staff Writer

The New York-based firm says its Platform Solution Provider, which has already successfully targeted the zSeries market, has now been extended out to IBM’s iSeries, BladeCenter and pSeries systems running on Linux.

In parallel with the launch of the program, Information Builders has also added new reseller partners which provide complementary systems support and service.

The number of BI systems being run on iSeries and Linux is growing according to Information Builders CEO Gerry Cohen.

Server consolidation savings, reduced management costs and attractive hardware and software pricing give Linux a TCO advantage, he said. We’ve made WebFocus the only BI product to natively support Linux on all IBM server platforms – iSeries, pSeries, xSeries, the mainframe, and BladeCenter.
