The Atlanta, Georgia-based company has detailed a roadmap for adding new role-based functionality to its existing Infor PM performance management software portfolio that comprises financial planning, budgeting, consolidation, reporting and expense management applications.
The company said it will now align future Infor PM development around two product categories: business process applications and business specific analytics. The categories will include role-based dashboards, performance metrics and scorecarding capabilities that support pre-defined process and guided workflow integration across all of Infor’s core ERP modules.
Currently Infor offers role-based analytics for sales, accounts receivables, general ledger, accounts payable, inventory and procurement. It will now develop additional business specific analytics tools embedded in other areas.
Additionally, Infor’s PM MPC product will be re-branded under the Infor PM Business Process Applications family.
We see huge demand for extensible and configurable solutions that drive down IT costs and increase access to information across all functional areas of organizations, said Curtis Gekle, senior vice president of Infor PM.
Infor’s performance management strategy is a direct response to recent activity from its chief ERP rivals SAP AG and Oracle Corp. Both have also been beefing up their performance management and analytic credentials, recently buying Pilot Software Inc and Hyperion Solutions Corp respectively.
Infor, which is an affiliate of Infor Global Solutions GmbH which is owned by private equity firm Golden Gate Capital, has also been busy on this front.
Last summer the company folded the Extensity Inc operation taken over by Infor Global Solutions following Golden Gate Capital’s acquisition of Geac Computer Corp Ltd earlier that year, into its business. It also acquired Systems Union Group Plc. Both added much-needed enterprise financials and performance-management functionality.
Infor has around 70,000 customers worldwide.
