Panasonic upset the Chinese authorities by listing Taiwan as an independent country in the handsets internal phone book. The company, in the process of apologizing to the Beijing government said did not know when the ban will start.
Having sold over one million handsets in China last year, this will be a bitter pill for Panasonic to swallow.
The company will still be allowed to manufacture handsets in China, through its joint venture businesses for the export market.
