INDIAN SOFTWARE FIRMS DIGGING Y2K GOLDMINE

India has bagged export orders of over $2bn for Year 2000 projects and now many Indian firms are offering a package deal to solve the problem, said Dewang Mehta, president of India’s apex software body, the National Association of Software and Service Companies (Nasscom). In the fiscal year ending March 1998, products tackling the Y2K problem accounted for more than 38% of India’s software exports.
