Pentafour Software and Exports Ltd, which claims to be the second largest software export house in India, is planning a major expansion of its US operations. It has recruited 10 staff from Silicon Graphics Inc, one of its business partners, for senior positions in the US. The ten have given a commitment to generate business worth $100m in 1998-99. This would be an increase of 70% over 1997-98. Revenues for the 1996-7 were $48.5m. Pentafour has hired Coopers & Lybrand to advise it on its US operations. It now has 13 offices in nine countries. Pentafour, which has specialized in graphics for the film industry, has an office in Hollywood, California, extending the activities of its Digital Imaging Center in India. The company has other business alliances with Apple Computer Corp, Dell Computer Corp in Asia, Eastman Kodak Co, IBM Corp, System Software Associates Inc and Synon Corp, now a part of Sterling Software Inc.
