Apple Computer Inc’s first quarter revenues will be up significantly, Apple USA president Bob Puette told Reuter on Friday, adding that he thinks the analysts will be pleased; he also said that the Powerbook line of portable computers will easily exceed the $1,000m in sales generated in fiscal 1992, and that they, along with some other lines, are in short supply because of demand; the new Performa line of computers aimed at the home user is doing very well with unexpected strong demand for the high-end CD-ROM version of the machine, and the majority sold being used for home educational use by families with school-age children; the sales catalogue, launched in October, is already generating millions of dollars in sales, Puette added.
