Westlake Village, California-based Incomnet has acquired Automated Automotive Interchange of North Hollywood, California for cash, royalties and performance-conditional stock warrants. Automated Automotive Interchange has developed a computerised database of interchangeable motor parts, which it says is critical to the auto dismantling business. This database, Interchange, tells dismantlers all of the cars on which a specific part can be installed interchangeably, thereby magnifying the value of a specific parts inventory. The interchange database integrates with Incomnet’s AutoNetwork computerised parts location network and AutoSearch Inventory System. Incomnet claims that AutoNetwork has 400 active auto dismantlers transacting approximately $100m of parts annually in the US. Incomnet recently acquired exclusive marketing rights to the AutoSearch inventory system, which is already installed in about 10% of Incomnet’s AutoNetwork customers.
