The partnership will allow users of Immem to access music and video from artists such as Radiohead, Coldplay and The Rolling Stones. The users can stream video and music, upload photos and MP3s, and create playlists and slideshows for friends.

Earlier this year, Imeem launched an ad-supported and interactive music streaming service for independent record labels. Imeem currently has only display ads, however it plans to offer streaming audio ads and video overlays.

We look forward to working with Imeem to develop innovative promotional opportunities and also to building new advertising and commerce revenue streams that will benefit EMI’s artists, said Lauren Berkowitz, senior vice president of North America at EMI Music.

Apart from EMI, Imeem has also partnered with Warner Music and Sony-BMG for music and video content.

EMI has signed agreements with hundreds of digital partners to distribute its music via the internet. The company recently launched songs without copyright protection through iTunes and Amazon. Through an agreement with SNOCAP, the company also sells free digital rights management and MP3 music through web sites, social networking sites, and blogs.

In September 2007, EMI also unveiled its plan to launch an online social networking site for music scouts and unsigned bands. The site also links to Angel’s artists on Last.fm, YouTube, and photo site Flickr, with branded profiles on social networking sites MySpace and Bebo.

In June 2007, Google and EMI Music agreed to permit users of Google’s YouTube video-sharing site to access music and clips produced by EMI artists.
