Imation will launch its RDX removable hard disk storage portfolio and Defender Collection portfolio of removable storage products at Storage Networking World (SNW) Spring 2011.
The RDX portfolio provides small- and mid-sized businesses (SMBs) with easy and reliable backup, data security and expandable storage.
Imation chief technology officer and senior vice-president Subodh Kulkarni said the company’s RDX system advances the level of data storage and protection available to growing SMBs.
"Users gain complete data protection and system flexibility, all with a lower total cost of ownership compared to entry-level tape-based systems," Kulkarni said.
The company also plans to expand the high-performance RDX portfolio with new additions.
These enhancements include the RDX A8, a networked storage device that holds up to eight RDX cartridges of interchangeable capacities.
In addition, the company will launch Defender Collection portfolio of removable storage products for securing data at rest on portable devices and media.
The Defender Collection includes a range of secure storage offerings on flash drives, removable hard disk drives and optical media, and security management software for managing removable devices.
