The new platform, iSolutions for Wireless, will combine sales, marketing and engineering resources from 10 Federal marketplace partners identified by iGov.
The program will also include technical expertise on secure wireless networking and will encompass Intel Centrino mobile technology that offers integrated wireless connectivity; IBM ThinkPads for wireless networking; wireless intrusion detection & prevention systems and software for securing mobile devices through encryption and access control.
Intel is leading Secure WLAN Infrastructure for Government (SWIG), a government-industry initiative that maps out secure, cost-effective wireless solutions that are compliant with Federal and DoD mandates, said Alfred Toussaint, Federal marketing manager, Intel. By working directly with iGov on SWIG, we are developing comprehensive mobility and wireless solutions like iSolutions for Wireless that address the distinctive needs of government agencies.
iGov currently supplies most of the US Army’s wireless requirements.
