By Friday morning at Fall Internet World in New York last week there were long faces in the Motorola faux diner and nobody at all wanting to either learn about, or demo the latest whizz-bang technology from Intel. Together with PC Expo in June, Fall Internet World is about the biggest high-tech trade show in New York for the past few years. But that was when it was held in the second week in December. And while October certainly feels more like fall in New York than December, you don’t come to New York in early October to do Christmas shopping, which may have something to do with the obviously low attendance, and don’t believe Mecklermedia nee Penton Media if they try to tell you otherwise.
