IDENTIX INTRODUCES TOUCHSAFE

By CBR Staff Writer

Biometric security products manufacturer Identix Inc has responded to an Ernst & Whinney survey that claims 90% of American managers regard security as an important issue by introducing TouchSafe, an imposter proof low-cost access control system based on the fingerprint: a mathematic characterisation of the fingerprint is stored in the computer’s memory, and verifies identity within two seconds of the user placing a finger on the scanner; buyers can choose from an internal IBM PC Bus module at UKP1,795 or an external UKP1,895 module which connects via an RS232 interface to systems from all leading manufacturers; either version is fully compatible with the latest release of Enigma Logic Inc’s authentication software package, Safe Word.
