Well are you surprised? About 400 of the 900-plus people at the distribution centre IBM is closing in Greencastle, Indiana have elected to take early retirement rather than transfer: the 500 or so who will move are likely the ones offered alternative jobs in Lexington, Kentucky, while the 400 who can’t face the move are no doubt those who drew the short straws and got offered transfers to IBM’s base in – Mechanicsburg, Pennsylvania.
