ICPI TO SHIP 50,000 UNITS IN UK AND FRANCE BY YEAR END

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM UK Ltd’s Individual Computer Products International Ltd told the Financial Times that it has shipped about 12,000 units to resellers in the UK and France since June – we don’t know how many of those are still sitting on dealers’ shelves, and expects 50,000 to have reached resellers by the end of the year: assuming that dealers pay UKP500 on average, that represents an annualised UKP50m; Nippon Steel Corp’s Librex unit shipped 10,000 of its notebooks in the US and Europe – mainly the UK – before it decided the game was not worth the candle.
