ICL UK AND ICL FRANCE CALLABORATE ON NEW BANKING SYSTEM

By CBR Staff Writer

ICL UK and ICL France have been collaborating on a new banking system called Omnia-Branch that runs under MS-DOS, OS/2, or Unix: it administers investment and mortgage accounts, offers audit and control reporting, and processes changes to customer information; expert systems are integrated with the teller system to provide mortgage and investment advice, and there is also an optional estate agency system; the system runs on ICL’s DRS personal computer range under MS-DOS or OS/2, and for larger installations, the software runs under Unix on a machine which acts as a file server and gateway.
