More good news from ICL is that the company has now sold its 1,000th Series 39 mainframe since deliveries of the new generation began in 1986: the 1,000th – a baby 39/15 – went to the avignon headquarters of do-it-yourself retail chain Bricallerie Investissement & Cie, an existing ICL System 25 user; of the 1,000 sold, 700 are in the UK, but ICL is hoping to take advantage of the coming Single European Market to raise the proportion of its business done on the continent.
