ICL Plc’s ICL Retail Systems Inc in Dallas has now wrapped up its agreement with the Dataserv Inc subsidiary of BellSouth Corp and has completed acquisition of two of the Dataserv Retail Applications division businesses, taking assets of the Specialty and the Department-Discount Store Solutions units (CI No 2,583). The agreement enables ICL to enhance its primary retail ISS30 software architecture to provide retailers with customised, fully integrated point-of-sale software. ICL claims to be the first retail systems integrator to deliver a fully-functional open architecture globally.Terms were not disclosed, but the company is taking on about 30 Dataserv employees.
