Unisys Corp’s Federal Systems Division is the second taker for ICL Plc’s Dialogue Manager software, which Amdahl Federal Systems Corp licensed recently (CI No 3,273). The software provides data access to PCs from IBM Corp and Unix machines, and Unisys has signed a reseller agreement. Unisys has been working with ICL to include support for its own 2200 series mainframes with Dialogue Manager, which will now be resold as Dialogue Manager Plus. ICL claims the deal will give it greater penetration into the US government market. The federal government will use the application to update the software interface on its dumb terminals, hopefully making them easier to use.
