ICL Plc is claiming the UK top spot for supply of commercial Unix systems in 1990, following an Inteco report which gives ICL 18% of the $15,000 to $500,000 UK Unix system marketplace – NCR Corp took 14%, Unisys Corp 10% and Bull SA 5% – other suppliers accounted for 53%. And a new report on the West European Unix market from London-based Input claims that system software will be worth $2,800m by 1996, up from $700m – Germany has 24%, the UK 22%, France 21%, Italy 9%, the rest of Europe 24%.
