ICL AND D&B SOFTWARE SIGN COLLABORATION AGREEMENT

By CBR Staff Writer

ICL and D&B Software, the company created from the merger of Management Science America and McCormack & Dodge, have signed an agreement to collaborate on the development of financial applications software for ICL’s Series 39 mainframes: the two companies are also working together to produce Ingres-based relational software as part of a move towards a relational implementation of Millenium software on Series 39; the first phase is to integrate Ingres into Millenium; ICL says that this will enable users to build their own relational systems or produce relational reports via the SQL interface from both relational and non-relational applications; the second phase is to build fully relational versions of Millenium applications, beginning with general ledger, which is scheduled for the end of this year.
