After assembling a short list of resellers, ICG conducted thorough background research on all the candidate companies. Comark, the largest privately-held reseller in the country, was chosen as the exclusive U.S. partner. According to Ulf Blomqvist, ICG general manager, Comark has been selected due to its strong position in the U.S. marketplace and current partnerships with Compaq, IBM, HP and Toshiba. Their recent investment in international skills and their management’s keen interest in becoming an ICG partner make them a solid match for ICG. We have been gearing up for this for the past two years, said Chuck Wolande, president and co-founder of Comark, and our acceptance into the ICG network is the key that will open the door to our expansion into the global marketplace.
Since 1991, Comark has enjoyed an average annual growth rate of over 33 percent by focusing its efforts primarily on Fortune 1000 companies, small and medium-size business and the public sector. While the company began formulating its global strategy in 1998, this initiative surged forward early in 2000 with the formation of its Global Accounts Division led by industry veteran, Terry Boyar. Mr. Boyar and his team bring over 25 years of hands-on experience in providing IT solutions to leading international companies in the chemical, banking and automotive industries. Having a global solution to offer is extremely important in today’s fast moving IT environment, said Mr. Boyar.
