IBM’s Zurich laboratory, which started the whole high temperature superconductivity business off nearly two years ago now, reckons that it has made another breakthrough, confirming that superconductivity has been demonstrated at minus 148oC in a Copper Oxide in which Thalium – a rather dangerous Rare Earth was the key element.
