IBM wraps up DWL buy

IBM Corp closed its acquisition of privately-held customer data integration (CDI) software firm DWL Inc, which it announced at the beginning of August. The financial terms of the deal remain undisclosed.

By CBR Staff Writer

DWL’s Java-based technology, which provides a single view of customer data strewn across disparate databases, will fall under the wing of IBM’s Information Management division and its technology will be merged into IBM’s growing data integration portfolio.

Last year IBM bought Trigo Technologies Inc for its product information management software- which does for product data what DWL does for customer data. Earlier this year IBM also bought ETL vendor Ascential Software Corp.

Ten year old DWL is headquartered in Atlanta and has around 150 employees.
