IBM Corp is currently working on a project to use technology from Deep Blue, the computer that beat Chess champion Garry Kasparov (CI No 3,161), to develop a new range of specialist financial applications. The tools, now in an early stage of development, have been designed to be used by investment firms to trade on the securities market. The company says it’s working with a large Japanese bank on the products but added that it’s not yet ready to name names.
