After starting out as a pussycat, IBM UK Ltd has overnight turned itself into a tiger in the disaster recovery business and is winning over customers from the established players – and impressing competitors with its efficiency and performance: reason is that the company has spotted that disaster recovery is a trojan horse for facilities management services, and observers say that there are sufficient abominably-run data processing departments in the UK that even IBM can make real money taking them over and running them competently.
