IBM’s software group is using Logidex to provide a centralized, managed repository for 1,000 re-usable components by 100 users inside IBM’s software group.

IBM currently has a number of efforts that promote re-use, in order that internal developers can re-use software built by individuals elsewhere in the organization, saving both time and money on development work. However, the group is now experimenting with moving to a single repository.

Among Logidex’s features are the ability to search for objects using graphics, as an alternative to text-based searching. A search may be entered for a workflow, for example, and all objects associated with that workflow are returned. LogicLibrary claimed Logidex can scale to 1,500 developers and provide sub-second response times.
