IBM TO USE AMD FAST ETHERNET CHIP IN NEW PC SERVERS

IBM Corp has signed up with Advanced Micro Devices Inc to use AMD’s PCnet-FAST Fast Ethernet chip in its new 325 and 330 ranges of PC servers. The single chip 10/100 Mbps Ethernet controller comes with its own software drivers, which are shared by the chips in the AMD PCnet family. AMD designs and fabricates the chips.
