IBM Corp has struck a deal to provide e-commerce systems to global music retailer HMV Media Group. HMV intends to have all its businesses online and fully transactional by the end of the year. The deal follows IBM’s involvement in the Electronic Music Management System trials announced last week, which are designed to counter the problem of internet music piracy. IBM will supply HMV with IBM AS/400 servers, WebSphere software, and services from IBM Global Services.
