IBM Corp’s Personal Computer Co has decided to bundle PC-DOS and Windows with its machines and throw in OS/2 Warp for free, and is calling the concept Select-a-System. It is offering the feature as standard on most desktop and notebook machines from this month; the feature comes configured so that the user simply clicks on the appropriate icon to load the desired operating environment, and can switch back and forth between the two. OS/2 Warp comes with a BonusPak of some dozen applications, and one-button access to the Internet and CompuServe. Select-a-System will come standard on all IBM ThinkPad, Aptiva, PC 300 and PC 700 models that are shipped with 8Mb of memory fitted.
