IBM TO PARTNER HTE IN ATLANTA OLYMPICS INFORMATION

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM Corp is to partner HTE Inc in supplying information about the 1996 Olympic Summer Games in Atlanta: local government software developers HTE becomes an IBM Premier Business Partner – at least until IBM changes its mind – and will try out its new touch-screen computer, Info’96, which will provide event results, news flashes, athlete biographies, historical Olympic information and transport schedules; users will be able to access Info’96 via an IBM personal computer running OS/2 using AS/400 Advanced Servers or an Info’96 multimedia kiosk and can then print out information on Lexmark laser printers; the multimedia kiosks will also be at the 1998 Olympic Winter Games in Nagano, Japan and Summer Games in Sydney, Australia.
