IBM “TO LICENSE 4M-BIT DESIGN TO MOTOROLA”…

Motorola Inc wants to lessen its dependence on Toshiba Corp for memory chip technology and will take a licence to make IBM’s 4M-bit dynamic RAM according to the Wall Street Journal, which quotes US government sources. IBM already licensed the part to Micron Technology Inc, but Cypress Semiconductor Inc turned it down saying IBM demanded too much.
