IBM TO LAUNCH THE NEW 2725 AND 2720 FRONT-END PROCESSORS

The new 2725 and 2720 front-end processors to supplement the 372X successors to the 3705, supporting high-speed T-1 lines and previewed in detail in November (CI No 810), are expected from IBM today, as is the major new release of the Network Control Program; the company is also expected to announce enhanced connectivity for Token Ring; that 3737 channel-to-channel connector, which IBM Japan claims to have developed (CI No 850), is expected to be announced for Europe.
