IBM TO LAUNCH GLOBAL AD CAMPAIGN ON YAHOO NETWORK

By CBR Staff Writer

IBM Corp has chosen the Yahoo Network to launch what it bills as the world’s first global internet advertising program. The program will begin in mid-April and continue through the end of the year and will target various demographic and geographic groups in several languages. A spokesperson for Yahoo said the program is unique because the scope and properties of the network will allow IBM to reach a truly global internet audience. IBM, one of the top three web advertisers, says the internet is an important and growing component of its worldwide media plan. Neither IBM nor Yahoo would comment on the estimated value of the deal.
