Many observers believe that IBM has painted itself into something of a corner by agreeing to take its dispute with Fujitsu Ltd over copyright in MVS and other mainframe software to the American Arbitration Association, and that its software cash cow is not under threat of slaughter by competition: the situation will become a little clearer this morning when at 9am New York time, the arbitrators are planning to discuss their rulings.
