IBM is working with the University of Dundee School of Computing and the Miami Miller School of Medicine to support older workers by improving areas such as accessibility. The idea is to develop open source tools that will help older workers adapt and remain productive in the fast-changing 21st century workplace.
This partnership falls under IBM’s Open Collaborative Research program which builds relationships with universities. Anything developed as part of this program will be made available as open source code.
Professor Peter Gregor, head of the school of computing at the University of Dundee said: The open source focus makes the challenges particularly rewarding because it means that knowledge gained and systems developed will be available freely to the people who need them and to other developers.
