As part of the continuing downsizing, IBM Corp last week notified another 1,200 US employees that they are surplus to requirements. The new cuts affect most parts of the company, including several software product groups but not Lotus, and all hardware groups except personal computers. Biggest cut is in Raleigh and Durham, North Carolina, where over 200 people are involved.
