IBM SPECTRUM PACT SET

IBM duly announced late Thursday that would buy for cash the technical and operational assets of PacTel Spectrum Services from Pacific Telesis Group, San Francisco (CI No 894). Companies, a subsidiary of Pacific Telesis Group. Spectrum provides services for isolating failures between customers’ communications equipment and the interconnecting network using remote test equipment at user locations, and will become a part of IBM’s National Service Division. Existing management will stay on and IBM has offered posts to the service development and operations staff. Completion is set for end of April.
