According to reports citing sources close to IBM, Swainson has been confirmed as the permanent replacement to Sanjay Kumar, who quit CA seven months ago amidst allegations of improper accounting practices.
Swainson, 50, reportedly has a reputation as a tough salesperson. He previously headed IBM’s Websphere middleware division.
Assuming the rumors are correct, Swainson will be replacing Kenneth Cron, the CA board member hired to take the CEO position on an interim basis after Kumar quit. Cron has also been touted as a possible permanent replacement.
