The contract covers a wide range of services, including compensation, performance management, payroll, benefits, workforce analytics, recruiting, staffing, and call center support. CVS has some 170,000 employees throughout the US, 55,000 of which joined the company through acquisitions in the past two years, stretching its HR support capacity, CVS said.
CVS will move the HR processes over to IBM throughout this year and next, according to an IBM statement. IBM told the Associated Press that the deal is its largest deal in the retail sector and one of the biggest ever in the HR outsourcing market.
