IBM and BG Group have entered into a five-year global deal for information technology (IT) services, under which IBM will build a globally consistent delivery model for BG Group’s operations in more than 25 countries.
Under the agreement, IBM will provide BG Group with server and storage support, end user services including deskside and global service desk support, as well as network management services.
In addition, IBM will also enhance BG Group’s information security position with managed securities services, including vulnerability management, firewall management and network intrusion detection.
The company said that it will enable BG Group to optimise its global operations to increase visibility, mitigate risk and lower costs across their entire business.
BG Group is a provider of natural gas, with operations across 25 countries on five continents. It has a portfolio of exploration and production, liquefied natural gas, transmission and distribution and power generation business interests.
