IBM’s big announcement on the first day of Spring Internet World in Los Angeles was the availability at the end of this month of its Net.commerce server bundle upgrades: Net.commerce Pro 2.0 that is specifically aimed at large corporate users, and Net.commerce Start 2.0, targeted at small companies. Both were announced in September last year at an earlier show. The company also announced that its CommercePoint Payment software, which features electronic wallets, e-Till and an electronic cash register is now available on Sun Solaris and OS/390, as well as AIX and Windows NT. Spring Internet World looks like disappointing from a news point of view for the second year in succession if yesterday’s activities are anything to go by.
